Luton Library Theatre is launching a brand new playwriting competition to uncover exciting new playwriting talent across the Three Counties.
We are looking for local writers regardless of age or experience to submit their work to Script Lab.  Scripts will be read by a panel of industry professionals and if selected, playwrights will be offered the following:
–    Detailed script feedback and structured mentorship from industry professionals
–    A professional director and acting company to transport their script from page to stage.
–    A Rehearsed Reading at Luton Fringe Festival on 20th March 2016.
Please send submissions to the address below by Midnight, Sunday, November 15th, 2015. If you send your submission in late your entry may not be accepted.
Submit your scripts to:
– A shortlist of playwrights will be announced on 15th December 2015
– Final Script Lab playwrights will be announced on 5th January 2016
– Script Lab accepts work from all writers regardless of age or level of experience.
– Script Lab is particularly focused on developing the work of local writers based in the Three Counties (Bedfordshire, Hertfordshire, Buckinghamshire).
– Script Lab are interested in one-act plays, as well as full length pieces.
– All work submitted must be sent via email and attached as either a PDF or Word document.

Write a Play – Save an Endangered Species!

Saving Endangered Species Int’l Playwriting Prize is seeking 10-minute plays about endangered species for a Staged Reading at a California theatre, with an award of $100 usd. Chose one or more species as listed from CITES, the World Wildlife Fund, or other organizations that list endangered species.
Plays may be comedic, dramatic or for young audiences (performed by adult actors). No adaptations or musicals. Max. 4 actors. Plays must be in English, or have been translated into English. Previously produced plays are accepted, published plays are not. NO ENTRY FEE.

We look forward to receiving exciting plays from around the world that will astonish the audience with the magnificence of the species – take us on an adventure – make us laugh, make us cry, make us weep if they’re gone – motivate us to save them!
