The BBC Writersroom Future Talent Award for Writers

BBC North Developing Talent in partnership with BBC writersroom is delighted to announce this development opportunity for student/recent graduate drama writers.
We would like to invite students from all departments at each of the BBC North Developing Talent partner organisations to submit their TV drama scripts, to be read and considered by our team of professional readers. We want you to THINK BIG and tell the Northern Story in a TV script that could be stand-alone, or the first part of a bigger series. From Tyneside to Merseyside, take us to worlds and workplaces that we haven’t seen before.

8th February

Anti-Valentine’s Day

We are currently looking for pieces to include in Love Bites’ Anti-Valentine’s Night.

All pieces should be on the theme of “anti-valentines” and be no longer than 15 minutes. We are interested in reading monologues, two-handers and hearing ideas for performance pieces. We are particularly interested in reading Black Comedy as the theme seems to lend itself well to that genre. Pieces with more than two actors are unlikely to be possible. The production will be simple and low-tech so please consider this when putting together ideas. The theatre is a black box space.

The deadline for submissions is midnight, Wednesday 8th of February.

Please email all submissions to

And please feel free to get in touch with any questions.

TenFour Theatre presents – A Table for Six

Following the success of September’s production A Table for Six at LiT Space in Southwark, TenFour Theatre is looking to develop the format in Spring 2012, expanding its audience and building it into a regular, reputable new writing event.
TenFour is now accepting submissions of monologues for its Spring production of A Table for Six.
The show revolves around an informal dinner party and its guests. The selected monologues will determine the characters attending the dinner.

  • The monologue must be internal and should not refer to any other guest at the table.
  • No other guest can hear or respond to the piece, is it for the audience only.
  • Something at the dinner should instigate the monologue, but by no means needs to be its main focus.
  • The monologue should be five to ten minutes in length.

Submissions are to be sent to:

A Table for Six – Spring 2012
TenFour Theatre
60 Colney Hatch Lane
