I have two things to share today:
One is that I’m in the final five for the Adrian Pagan Award – yay! And it’s got my name in The Stage – yay, yay!
Two is the coolest quote I’ve heard in a long time and it came from Sam Potter’s blog in The Guardian:
“I am not suggesting that the NT should programme more plays by women to fulfill a quota, or even to be fair. I’m suggesting the NT should programme more plays by women because by not doing so they are missing out.”
Awesome.
If you need the magic of three I could also share that I’ve found #2’s stash of Halloween sweeties and I can’t stop stealing from it! Nom nom nom nom nom nom nom. Shhh.

This competition calender is the best thing for unknown playwrights for years. I have two pieces being performed and have received much encouraging feedback for future opportunities. I’m almost inclined to keep it to myself to reduce the competition, but I’ve got to behave and so I recommend to every writer I meet

Thanks all for your lovely comments. Swinging between excited optimism (Who shall I call first? What do I say? How will I spend the cash?) to gloomy depression (It’s never going to be me! I’m too old/ boring/ full of stolen chocolate!). A shortlist always feels good though. Fingers crossed.
