Fun Fun Fun

There are some fun and inspiring competitions popping around these parts:

An idea I love and have heard about is Riff Raff Productions who are doing a Lost Shoes project. “Lost Shoes is an art and new-writing project which will take place in London in September 2013. We are inviting artists to decorate, rework or repurpose a shoe and writers to write a short new play inspired by an image taken from the twitter feed @abandonedshoes. The work will be showcased in a pop-up gallery as part of the London Design Festival 2013.”

Pop Up Theatre Company are looking for plays inspired by the news. “This does not necessarily mean a news story – think outside the box! Chosen scenes will be workshopped and incorporated into our Camden Fringe show.

The London Horror Festival has announced its second Stagefright Competition. They want short radio horror plays, and the sortlisted plays will be produced by Wireless theatre Company.

Little Pieces of Gold are looking for ten minute plays which address the big turning points, changes and transitions in a person’s life. Leaving home, new lovers, marriage, divorce, starting school/ university/new job, career changes, emigrating, retirement, illness, death, having children, returning to work, ending friendships & making new ones.

And did you all know that The Bush Theatre is opening its submissions window from June 17th to July 12th? Well, you do now.

  2. If you could publicise this, it’d be nice…

There is an entry fee but all of that goes to the reader. Therefore the winner gets £200 of website, PLUS a stage performance that is filmed and given to the writer on a DVD. Every entry gets written feedback. I don’t ‘think’ any other competition offers all this PLUS people will hear within 2 weeks. I entered one competition and they took SEVEN months to get back

    Many thanks

    regards
