Loving the Long List

Filed under: New Competitions — Gina @ 20:48

I’ve had great news from the BBC’s Opening Lines that my short story has made it onto the long list. Yay! I am very excited although it is a looooooong long list – 65, but out of 760 so I’m pretty happy with that. I now have to wait 6 weeks to hear about the short list, and then 3 stories will be produced for the series. I’ve booked in some serious nail biting action for April.

To take my mind off it I’m now debating whether to sign up for Blogging A to Z April. I’d have to post at least 100 words every day except Sundays for 26 days. I’m not sure I’ve got that much to say for myself but I could do some fine rambling. Tell you what, I’ll warn you if I’m doing it then you can just tune out for April.

I’ve been adding stuff as I find it, but I do remember the Papatango New Writing prize is up and looking for plays of at least 90 minutes(closing in May), and the Nick Darke Award is looking for scripts with a loose environmental theme. This is for stage, radio or screenplays and closes in April. If you want to write a shorty and can rustle up some festive feeling The Putney Theatre Company are  looking for scripts of 30 mins for a Victorian Christmas show suitable for family audience. No cast restrictions, other than balance of male/female roles.

My telly program’s started so I’m off now. Happy writing all. X
