Sitting in bed poorly sick today but Have paracetamol, Will write.

The Bruntwood Prize is gearing up again with the closing date in June, but it doesn’t open until January 31st so DON’T SEND YOUR SCRIPT IN YET.

Sad news from the Drama Association of Wales that there’ll be no One Act play competition this year. “We have attempted to continue with our services and writing initiatives under the difficult circumstances that many arts organisations have found themselves in due to the lack of funding and support from the Arts Council of Wales. Unfortunately, it was felt that the Playwriting Competition, among certain other projects and initiatives, could not take place this year.” Redundancies going on too thanks to funding being removed. maybe we should all stop this theatre business and be accountants instead.

If you’re working on something for BBC’s Writer’s Prize they’ve just had a Twitter Q&A which was very useful. You can catch up using @bbcwritersroom

The Space (E. London) are looking for monologues for a brand new monologue festival – One.  They will accept anything from a short piece, one act or full length play – the only restriction is that it must be performed by one performer.  The festival will run from 30th Jan – 9th February at the Space.  All performers will receive a split of the box office. More info on Arts Council website. Closing date 24th November.

I’ve just been scouring the Salisbury Playhouse website because that’s who’s running the Play for Youth Theatres competition I mentioned before, but I can’t find any details yet. It was opening in November, closing I think on 7th January and they want the first 25 pages of a play with a minimum of 20 characters. I will post the link when I find it (let me know if any of you find it first).

Finally here’s the link to the Wireless Theatre Company website who ran the horror competition I was involved in. Such a fun night even if my play didn’t win.
