Loving being a teaching assistant right now because I’m in the middle of a six week holiday. Hurrah! And I’ve written two short plays for the London Horror Festival. Hurrah hurrah! Can’t think of anything worth 3 hurrahs.
I have booked my free seat for the BBC Writersroom visit to the Salisbury Playhouse on October 13th. They’ll be launching A Play for Young People Competition: BBC Writers Room and Salisbury Playhouse will select a writer to receive support and development.
I’ve also just heard about a playwriting mentoring opportunity by Kaite O’Reilly between December 2012 and April 2013 – “This unusual course offers aspiring writers for live performance the rare opportunity of developing a new short play (20 minutes maximum) with guidance, tuition and dramaturgical feedback over a 4 month period by award-winning writer, Kaite O’Reilly.”
In December you’ll find details of a Five ‘n Ten comp. by Neath Little Theatre in Wales. They want either a five minute monologue or ten minute play.
And now I need you all to pray for sunshine next week because we’re supposed to be camping. X
