Playwrights' Competition Calendar

I heart Neil Gaiman

If you’re having a go at the ENO’s minioperas competition you want to be on Twitter tomorrow evening at 7.30 because Neil Gaiman is going to be on answering questions. His Twitter user name is @neilhimself and I’m a little bit excited because I’m a huge fan of his novels, comics, children’s stories and and I’d better stop before I fuse my laptop with drool.

You also need to know that there’s only one more week until the BBC Writersroom shuts its door to unsolicited scripts again so edit like the wind.

I did add a few new comp.s to the calendar the other day. Um…

COFILMIC and the GUMPTION CENTRE are inviting screenplay submissions for comedy films or filmed comedy sketches. Closing date May 31st but they only want five pages.

The Bush/Kudos Writers’ Co-Development Scheme – This new initiative has been created to help working writers with a track record in theatre or television progress to the next level of their chosen career path.

And the International Radio Playwriting Competition run by the BBC World Service and the British Council, in partnership with Commonwealth Writers, is now in its 23rd year and is open for business.

Big child has now brought two teddies to me in need of mending so it’s time to put down the laptop and pick up a needle so farewell and happy writing.
