Playwrights' Competition Calendar

All quiet on the south-western front

Filed under: New Competitions — Gina @ 23:18

It’s all gone rather quiet in competition land. Wonder if I can blame the royal wedding?

I’ve seen nothing new for the mature writers among my loyal fan (you know who you are), but if you know of any budding young writers out there BBC Learning have a fantastic competition for 9-11 year olds that will give one lucky team of primary school children the chance to write their own Doctor Who mini-adventure starring the Eleventh Doctor, Matt Smith.

“To win this once in a lifetime opportunity, pupils aged 9-11 will be encouraged to collaborate on a three minute script that takes the resident Time Lord on a new quest travelling through space and time inside the TARDIS.
The lucky winners will travel to the BBC’s studios in Cardiff where they will see their script brought to life by the Doctor Who team and cast including Matt Smith.”

Closing date is June 13th.

I’ve given a print-out to my daughter’s school on the proviso that if they win I get to be a parent helper for the prize. Three cheers for the pushy parent.
